Trinity UFO – First Flight

The wind was finally here today and I was able to fly the Trinity YFO. The wind speed was about 30 km/h + gusts so I was a little worried. The kite was able to handle the high winds without too much of a fuss. The current configuration includes a fiberglass ring as I ran out of carbon rods. The fiber glass ring is usually positioned against the wind, however due to the high wind conditions the ring was folding in half under the pressure. So, I rotated the kite so that the fiberglass ring was on one edge of the kite instead of taking the full force of the wind. Once that was solved it was clear sailing. The kite was very stable especially considering the gusts. The tail is not needed but I wanted to see what it would look like.. very cool. 🙂

I find when you look at this kite at a certain angle you can see an odd head, sort of like a grey alien, or dragon lizard. Squint your eyes and see if you see what I see.. 😀 😀

More photos are available here.

Thanks to my lovely wife Valerie for taking these cool pictures and some video.. it was really cold and you were very patient 😀 😀
