Multi Tube
I recently purchased Jim Rowlands book titled Soft Kites and Windsocks(links to Half.com). I knew through previous searches on the net that this was good book and that it had a few errors. The list of errata for the book can be found here.
The kite that I am interested in at the moment is the multi-tube. I examined the plan last night and it looks extremely simple and expandable. While surfing today I found a picture of a kite by Bill Rodriguez on the GWTW kite forums.

This is a modified version of the multi-tube as I think the original only has 4 tubes. Now that I look at Bill’s picture above I think it also has shorter keels than the multi-tube that is listed in Jim Rowlands book.
I plan on building a prototype of this kite in the next few weeks…
Cheers,
Bill

The multitube was the first kite I built. I did it straight from the book and just made the pieces fit. ( I made paper patterns first to check.)
I was a brilliant flier, didn’t need a tail.
I don’t have any photos.
Sadly, I always kept it in my pocket for walks in the countryside, and one day it fell out and I lost it.
Still I’ve moved on to bigger kites now
